Well, I’m not sure where the year has gone but boy is it moving fast! The rain has been intense and here in the U.K it has rained for the whole of January & February – I kid you not! Today the sun is shining and the birds are singing – I’m hoping that’s the last we see of the rain for a while.

Finding time to write while holding down a full time day job is tough, but as ever necessity is the mother of invention. More and more my time to write is accomplished by taking annual leave or booking weekend retreats to take myself away from the everyday to focus.

As those of you who read my blog regularly know myself and a few other writers head down to Greenway – Agatha Christie’s home in Torquay each year for a five day writing retreat. As always it was fantastic – having nothing to do except write was wonderful. Yes, it rained, yes it was cold, but it was glorious! The photos below don’t really do it justice. In the evenings we’d get together as a group and share our writing. I managed to solve the mystery of the missing ending for my WIP and complete 2 new short stories so time very well spent. Since I’ve been home the world has crowded back in but that’s OK as I at least feel as if I’ve accomplished something already this year. Today I’m busy planning holidays, parties, and of course my next writing escape – who knows where it may take me but one things for certain it will much appreciated wherever I end up!!
